Professional Learning and Support
- Support in the design and delivery of culturally responsive schoolwide and divisional professional development to build educator confidence, competence, and discernment in using AI for teaching and learning.
- Design and deliver workshops, courses, and learning materials that develop understanding of AI literacy, ethical considerations, and digital equity in the application of emerging technologies.
- Act as a resource and mentor for educators in developing technology-rich, innovative, and responsible instructional strategies that enhance student learning and digital citizenship.
- Provide classroom-based modeling and coaching to help teachers experiment with, refine, and reflect on AI-enhanced practices.
- Collaborate with PLCs, divisional teams, and instructional leaders to align professional learning, share effective practices, and build collective capacity.
- Support the development of a professional culture that embraces curiosity, creativity, and responsible use of AI as part of continuous growth and innovation.
Curriculum Integration and Design
- Partner with teachers, curriculum coordinators, PLCs, and the Office of Learning to embed AI and digital literacy into units, assessments, and cross-disciplinary experiences that reflect inclusive and equitable learning principles.
- Co-design exemplar lessons, projects, and learning resources that demonstrate effective AI use across subject areas.
- Support the continued development and implementation of the school’s K–12 Digital Literacy and AI Framework.
- Promote the use of AI as a tool for personalization, creativity, and critical thinking within classroom and curriculum design.
- Collaborate with divisional and curriculum teams to evaluate impact and refine approaches through ongoing review and reflection.
Resource Development, Innovation, and Consultation
- Research, evaluate, and pilot emerging AI tools to determine their educational value, ethical implications, and potential for schoolwide adoption.
- Develop and maintain accessible resources, exemplars, and toolkits to support educators in effectively and responsibly using AI in their practice.
- Partner with the Educational Technology team and IT Operations to ensure tools and resources meet data privacy, interoperability, and safeguarding standards.
- Provide consultation and guidance to educators and teams exploring AI integration within teaching or operations.
- Encourage educator-led experimentation and innovation through pilots, showcases, and collaborative inquiry.
- Gather and share insights, impact stories, and emerging best practices to inform continuous improvement.
Community and Industry Engagement
- Support the wider SAS community - students, educators, and parents - in developing understanding, skills, and discernment around AI use guided by the school’s values of care, curiosity, and purpose.
- Design and facilitate learning experiences for parents and families to strengthen shared understanding of AI, digital citizenship, and responsible technology use.
- Build partnerships with industry experts, higher education institutions, and peer schools to enhance student and faculty learning opportunities.
- Represent SAS at relevant conferences, workshops, and professional networks to share practice and learn from others in the field.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in professional learning opportunities, staying abreast of trends in AI and emerging technologies and their application in education.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology and Innovation.
Position Requirements & Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
- At least two years of full time experience in teaching, instructional coaching, or educational technology
- Demonstrated expertise in AI in education through coursework, certifications, or ongoing professional development
- Experience designing and facilitating professional development
- Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills
Preferred
- Advanced degree in a relevant field
- Experience teaching or leading instructional initiatives in K-12 or higher education settings
- Experience integrating digital or AI tools to enhance teaching, learning, or assessment practices
- Strong research and analytical abilities to evaluate AI tools and provide informed recommendations
- Knowledge of ethical considerations, data privacy, and frameworks for responsible technology integration
- Commitment to advancing equitable, human-centered, and responsible technology use in education
