Job description

Core Responsibilities

• Integrate and manage a fleet of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) for material transport within the factory.
• Develop or configure fleet management software to dispatch AGVs, track their real‑time locations, and interface with fixed equipment at loading/unloading stations.
• Implement robust communication between AGVs and central control systems (using wireless networks, MQTT or similar messaging) to ensure safe and efficient routing, traffic control, and battery charging management.
• Coordinate AGV operations with ASRS and production equipment to enable just‑in‑time delivery of parts and materials to the lines.

Must Have Skills

• Proven experience deploying or integrating AGV systems or mobile robots in an industrial setting, including knowledge of fleet management and traffic control strategies.
• Ability to design and support real‑time control systems for vehicle coordination with fail‑safes (collision avoidance, emergency stop protocols) to ensure safety.
• Familiarity with networking and wireless communication as used by AGVs (Wi‑Fi, vehicle‑to‑infrastructure messaging) to maintain reliable connectivity.

Good to Have Skills

• Understanding of autonomous vehicle algorithms (routing, scheduling, obstacle avoidance) and experience with vendor‑specific AGV SDKs or APIs for customization.
• Experience with MQTT or similar protocols for machine‑to‑machine communication, and knowledge of how to integrate AGV status data into MES or monitoring dashboards for visibility.
