About the role

The Aftermarket Sales Representative (ASR) is responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships with customers on behalf of the Company in the company by taking personal and complete responsibility to generate opportunity and business by building relationships with new customers in an assigned territory.

As the Aftermarket Sales Representative, you will serve as the primary internal representative of our Company for customer needs, to convey to the customer a sense of expertise in our servicing services and capabilities and serve as an external key educator to our community and customers.

You will also facilitate support of existing accounts as needed with the goal of increasing the level of service and customer satisfaction.

Key Result Areas & Responsibilities

New Customer Development

  • Develop new service and parts business within the assigned territory by making cold calls, conducting service presentations and following up on leads for new business.
  • Primary focus on sales of Planned Maintenance and Contract Service Maintenance agreements.
  • Additional focus on sales of other assigned company products and services.
  • Provide accurate, valid, and complete information to customers regarding pricing.
  • Effectively negotiate tailored service agreements with existing and new customers.
  • Maintain records of customer interactions and process customer accounts and file documents promptly.
  • Effectively communicate customer requirements to the service department, in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Identify additional opportunities such as support products, overhauls, battery sales, sales, rental leads to current and new customers and ensure such information is effectively communicated to internal customers.
  • Ensure that all customer orders are effectively communicated with the relevant internal customers to ensure customer requirements are delivered.
  • Process customer orders in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Effectively present and discuss the products and services of the Company in a way that conveys an image of quality, integrity and superior understanding and delivery of customer needs.
  • Attend to customer questions, complaints and concerns immediately, and facilitate satisfactory resolutions.
  • Ensure the customer’s needs are satisfied whilst ensuring Crown’s demands are met (e.g., PM frequency).

Service and Parts Account Support

  • Make calls on assigned branch customers to maintain and increase service work for the branch.
  • Prepare quotes for required service work.
  • Meet with customers on a regular basis to improve and promote the Company’s services and products.
  • Review lists of customers not using the Company’s services and form a business plan to visit and liaise with them, informing them of the benefits of using the Company’s service.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participation in sales meetings, resolution of accounts receivable or service issues, aid other members of the sales and service.
  • Be involved in ad hoc and project-based work as required to improve sales performance.
  • Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth.
  • Complete ad hoc tasks as directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Industrial/Capital Equipment Industry Service or Sales Experience.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding set targets.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated individual.
  • High level of organisational skills.
  • Accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including an in depth understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite.
