Job summary

SELF HELP GROUPS STUDENT CARE LIMITED is seeking a caring Student Care Officer to join our islandwide network of school-based centres. You will deliver high-quality care and supervision to children in our after-school programme, within a supportive team.

Responsibilities include engaging children in activities, safeguarding health and safety, communicating with families, and maintaining accurate attendance and progress records. Hours vary by term, with term-time 11am–7pm, holidays 7.30am–7pm.

Qualifications

• O level and above.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and engaging children in activities including homework assistance and educational projects.
• Ensuring health, safety, and well‑being of all children in care.
• Communicating with parents/guardians to provide updates and address concerns.
• Maintaining accurate records related to attendance, progress and incidents.
• Collaborating with colleagues to plan age-appropriate activities.
• Adhering to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
