Job summary

A marine and ship repair company in Singapore is looking for a procurement specialist to manage purchase orders and supplier communications. Responsibilities include creating and issuing Purchase Orders, verifying invoices, and maintaining databases. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and is proficient in Microsoft Excel. This role is open to candidates with GCE O-level, A-level or a Diploma, as well as university graduates.

Qualifications

  • Min GCE O-level, GCE A-level or Diploma. Candidates with university degrees are also welcomed.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
  • Great attention to detail is required.
  • Some experience with Microsoft Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and issue Purchase Orders (POs) to suppliers and external partners.
  • Review and follow-up on the status of POs.
  • Communicate status of POs to management and project teams.
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers and conduct price comparisons.
  • Update finance and inventory databases with information from POs.
  • Verify supplier invoices against delivery orders and POs.

Job Description
  • Create and issue Purchase Orders (POs) to suppliers and external partners
  • Review and follow-up on the status on POs
  • Communicate status of POs to the management, project engineers, accounts team, and finance team
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers and conduct price comparisons
  • Update finance and inventory databases with critical information from POs, including price, amount and price per unit
  • Verify supplier invoices against delivery orders and POs
  • Liaise with external parties (suppliers, subcontractors, clients) for administrative and procurement matters
  • Conduct analyses of prices, pricing trends, costs, suppliers, subtractors, customers
  • Prepare invoices for submission to customers
  • Update and maintain company databases
  • Handle incoming/outgoing correspondence, telephone calls, couriers, and deliveries
  • Handle administrative duties including flight bookings, transportation bookings, visa issues, and employee timesheets
  • Manage day-to-day office operations, including filing, documentation, data entry, and record maintenance.
  • Any other duties assigned by the management
Requirements
  1. Min GCE O-level, GCE A-level or Diploma. Candidates with university degrees are also welcomed
  2. Strong organizational and communication skills
  3. Great attention to detail
  4. Some experience with Microsoft Excel and interested in working with Microsoft Excel
  5. With or without prior work experience
  6. Willingness to work in or around Jurong or Western region of Singapore
  7. Willingness to work in the ship repair, ship building, engineering, manufacturing, or logistics industry
  8. Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) Preferred
