Job description

Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), University of the Arts Singapore, an esteemed arts institution with a global reputation seeks an administratively strong Adjunct Lecturer (Design) at the Centre for Lifelong Education (CLE).

Established in 2005, NAFA’s Centre for Lifelong Education is Singapore’s leading institute for continuing education and training in arts, design and media. Its courses offer opportunities to upskill, reskill and develop new hobbies, through our short courses and certificate courses.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

The role involves undertaking contact/teaching hours per week in one of the following courses:

  • Generative AI for Digital Media Design
  • VR/AR for Education & Training
  • VR/AR for Marketing & Advertising
  • Procreate for Interior Design
  • Photography with AI
  • Service Design and UX Design

You will design, prepare and develop documents such as lesson plans, assessment descriptors, as well as teaching resources and materials.

This includes planning and supervising a variety of activities such as projects, productions, collaborations, assess students’ assignments/works/projects, as well as to prepare and maintain records relating to students’ progress, performance and attendance.

A key part of the role includes conducting course reviews to ensure academic excellence. Keeping abreast on the development of discipline‑related teaching practices and learning strategies is essential to integrating academic knowledge with real‑world industry practices, providing students with valuable professional connections and insights.

Requirements & Qualifications

You should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, with a minimum of five years of teaching and relevant working experience.

WSQ Advance Certificate in Training & Assessment (ACTA) or Advance Certificate in Learning & Performance (ACLP) will be desirable.

The ability to teach online via MS Teams, Zoom or Canvas and/or relevant applications is preferred.

You should be positive, enthusiastic and results‑oriented, with the ability to engage adult learners.

Excellent command in written and spoken English is required, as well as communication, problem‑solving and analytical skills.

A team player with strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with students and industry partners will be essential.
