Job summary

National University Hospital in Singapore is seeking a Phlebotomist Assistant for the Acute Medical Unit. You will perform venepuncture, update EMR, run POCT blood sugar checks, and support ward operations.

Requires Higher NITEC or Diploma in Nursing, phlebotomy certification, at least 2 years of venepuncture experience, and excellent customer service. You must be able to work independently in an acute inpatient ward setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture for collection of blood specimen for dispatch to the laboratory.
• Update electronic medical record for blood specimen that has been collected and dispatched to the laboratory.
• Perform blood sugar check using a POCT machine.
• Practice universal precautions when performing any procedure.
• Perform inventory management in the ward.
• Assist healthcare staff in repositioning of patient in bed.
• Assist in improving, identifying and implementing changes in the work processes of the Phlebotomy service.
• Orientate and guide new Phlebotomy staff.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the nursing supervisors.
