Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience within insurance, actuarial, risk or internal audit.
• Strong technical understanding of insurance actuarial processes and the underlying risks and controls.
• Experience in reserving, valuation, pricing, capital, IFRS 17, actuarial modelling or actuarial risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver actuarial-focused audit reviews across areas such as reserving, valuation, capital, pricing, financial reporting, risk management and actuarial governance.
• Collaborate with senior actuarial and business stakeholders to assess robustness, governance and alignment with regulatory expectations.

Our client is a leading financial services organisation seeking an experienced actuarial professional to join its internal audit function. This role will provide independent assurance over actuarial processes, methodologies, governance and controls, with exposure to senior stakeholders across the business.

The position is suited to an actuary or actuarial professional with strong insurance experience who is interested in applying their technical expertise in an audit and risk environment.

The Role

• You will lead and deliver actuarial-focused audit reviews across areas such as reserving, valuation, capital, pricing, financial reporting, risk management and actuarial governance.
• You will work closely with senior actuarial and business stakeholders to assess whether key processes, methodologies and controls remain robust, appropriately governed and aligned with regulatory and industry expectations.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of relevant experience within insurance, actuarial, risk or internal audit.
• Strong technical understanding of insurance actuarial processes and the underlying risks and controls.
• Experience in one or more of reserving, valuation, pricing, capital, IFRS 17, actuarial modelling or actuarial risk management.
• Previous internal audit, risk, controls, governance or assurance experience would be advantageous.
• Candidates who have transitioned from an actuarial function into audit, risk or controls are encouraged to apply.
