Job summary

Gen Re's ASEAN Life/Health Unit seeks an Actuarial Associate to support pricing, experience analysis and model development across ASEAN markets.

You will work with cross‑functional teams to refine pricing bases, build dashboards and monitor portfolio performance, contributing to regionally aligned pricing strategies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 1–2 years of relevant life insurance or reinsurance experience.
• Actuarial certification underway (SOA or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong data analytics affinity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English; able to communicate with stakeholders.

Your Role

Our ASEAN Life/Health Unit is seeking to appoint a dynamic individual as Actuarial Associate for our ASEAN markets. In this position, you will support reinsurance pricing and referral processes, monitor business performance through experience analysis, and contribute to the development and enhancement of pricing bases and models.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Support the review of reinsurance quotations in compliance with established policies, procedures, guidelines and standards
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing pricing models, templates, and bases, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives
• Support Client Management Team by providing insights through experience analysis and development of dashboards
• Support in-force portfolio management by maintaining dashboards and ensuring timely updates of experience analysis for stakeholders to make informed decision
• Participate in regional and international initiatives and projects assigned

Your Profile

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline
• 1 - 2 years' relevant experience, preferably in a life insurance or reinsurance company
• Candidates actively working toward actuarial certification with a recognized professional body (e.g., SOA) are highly preferred
• Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience will be considered
• An affinity for data analytics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good command of English, both written and spoken, as this is the primary language of communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Able to work both independently and as a team player
