Job description

Munich RE, a leading global reinsurer, is recruiting for an Actuarial Analyst for its Southeast Asia (SEA) and High Net Worth (HNW) business. A dominant player in the SEA and HNW market, Munich RE reinsures a comprehensive range of products covering death, disability, critical illness, health, and long-term care risks.

This role involves contributing to the development of market-leading reinsurance solutions, developing pricing bases, maintaining pricing excellence, and providing cross-functional support on a project basis.

Your Role
Reinsurance Pricing
  • Support quotation work by contributing to pricing recommendations, including preparing pricing inputs & assumptions, performing profit sensitivity testing and scenario analysis, documenting outputs, and quote discussions.
  • Ensure pricing work aligns with Munich RE’s global and regional pricing frameworks, profitability targets, and risk appetite, supporting regional pricing referrals where needed.
  • Undertake experience studies on datasets across SEA markets to set pricing assumptions.
  • Review pricing quotations prepared by other team members.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining pricing models and toolkits for life reinsurance products.
Cross-functional Collaboration and Support
  • Collaborate with the Inforce Management Team on data analytics projects to derive insights supporting product development and strengthening Munich RE’s market position.
  • Work closely with the Product Development Team and Medical Experts to develop and refine pricing bases reflecting latest trends, medical outlook, and market dynamics.
Your Profile
  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Minimum 2 years of actuarial pricing experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with AXIS is a plus; knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R) is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Flexible and comfortable with hybrid working arrangements.
