Job summary

A logistics and trading company based in Singapore is seeking an accountant to manage various financial processes including accounts payable and receivable, financial statement preparation, and GST submissions. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in finance/accounting, 2-3 years of relevant experience, and strong proficiency in MS Office. Familiarity with accounting standards like IFRS and experience in ERP systems will be advantageous. This role requires attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of working experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with international trade documentation and payment processes.
  • Understanding of foreign currency transactions and bank reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accounting processes and tasks for the company.
  • Prepare and close daily/monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Submit GST quarterly returns to the tax authority.

Job description
Duties include:
  • Responsible for accounting processes and tasks (i.e.: AP & AR process, GL, account reconciliation, etc.)
  • Maintain and organize all documents required for processing
  • Responsible for preparation and closing of daily/monthly and annual financial statements
  • Invoicing and prepare payment vouchers
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal parties to support intercompany activities
  • Prepare and submit GST quarterly returns to IRAS
  • Assist in new processes and system implementation when required
  • Prepare information & documents required by auditor, resolve audit queries, and obtain audit confirmations
  • Prepare Import & Export documents for submission to bank
  • Handle any other ad-hoc duties/task assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Diploma in Finance/Accounting or a related field required.
  • Preferably with 2-3 years of working experience
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS
  • Proficient in MS Office & Excel application
  • Familiarity with international trade documentation and payment processes.
  • Understanding of foreign currency transactions and bank reconciliation.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Committed, self-motivated and diligent
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English to liaise with associates/counterparts
  • Experience of shipping or grain trading company will be an advantage
  • Experience in using ERP system will be an advantage
  • Able to work independently or in a team-based environment and meet deadlines
