Job summary

A local non-profit organization in Singapore is seeking an Accounts Officer to support the Finance division. Responsibilities include compliance checking, data entry for invoices, bank reconciliations, and assisting with monthly closing activities. Job description

The Accounts Officer report to the Accounts Executive. Based at the DAS Head Office in Jurong Point, he/she will provide operational and administrative support for the Finance division.

The Accounts Officer performs a variety of tasks related to Finance including but not limited to:

  • Checking for compliance of procurement guidelines
  • Performing data entry functions such as supplier invoices
  • Reviewing and posting of entries, mainly accounts payable / payment, including e-claims
  • Processing and arrangement of payments
  • Performing weekly checking of Paynow transactions
  • Performing bank reconciliations
  • Assist in month-end and quarterly closing activities, including preparation of journal entries for accruals and prepayments
  • Monitoring fixed deposits (FD) and liaising with bank relationship managers for FD rates
  • Quarterly preparation of GST reporting
  • Assisting to check and ensure prompt and correct monthly enrolment statistics submission by LCM
  • Maintaining Fixed Assets Register
  • Assisting in preparing audit schedules, annual reports and statutory audits
  • Assisting in receipts cancellation and invoices adjustments
  • Any other Finance related duties that may be assigned from time to time by your line manager
Requirements
  • A diploma / degree in Accountancy or equivalent
  • At least 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to general ledger, month-end closing and management reporting. Experience in accounts payable will be an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of GST requirements, receipts handling protocols and documentation accuracy
  • Awareness of internal control practices and compliance with procurement and finance policies
  • Familiarity with working in an organisation with multiple cost centres, programmes or service locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookups and pivot tables
  • Working knowledge of general ledger functions and month-end closing processes
  • Ability to prepare schedules to support management reporting
  • Experience with accounting systems (preferred)
