Job description

This unique opportunity allows you to immerse yourself in a hands‑on accounting role, where your attention to detail and willingness to learn will be highly valued. You will play a pivotal part in managing diversified investments and business interests, working closely with both internal colleagues and external partners such as auditors and bankers. The organisation offers a stable work environment that encourages collaboration, growth, and direct interaction with senior stakeholders.

What you'll do:

As an Accounts Executive, you will become an integral member of a small but highly effective finance team responsible for managing the day‑to‑day accounting operations of a family office. Your role will involve preparing financial statements, coordinating audit schedules, maintaining accurate records for both receivables and payables, as well as supporting budgeting activities. You will have the opportunity to interact directly with senior stakeholders while also building strong relationships with external auditors and bankers. Success in this position comes from your ability to balance meticulous record‑keeping with proactive communication skills, all while contributing positively to ongoing process improvements within a supportive environment.

  • Manage the full set of accounts including month‑end closing activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements, detailed management reports, and thorough audit schedules for review by internal and external parties.
  • Liaise proactively with external auditors, tax agents, and bankers to facilitate smooth audits and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions despite low transaction volume, ensuring all records are up‑to‑date and accurate.
  • Maintain the integrity and timeliness of all financial records and reporting processes within the organisation's established frameworks.
  • Assist with budgeting exercises, monitor cash flow positions regularly, and provide ad‑hoc financial analysis as required by management.
  • Support ongoing efforts to enhance accounting processes and strengthen internal controls for greater efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with other team members to share knowledge, resolve issues promptly, and foster a positive working atmosphere.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements that can streamline workflows or improve reporting accuracy across the finance function.
What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Accounts Executive position brings not only technical expertise but also a genuine commitment to supporting their team's success. Your background may include formal training in accountancy or related fields along with hands‑on experience managing full sets of accounts. You are comfortable using standard office software tools for financial analysis and reporting. Beyond technical skills, you thrive on being dependable. Someone who can be trusted with sensitive information-and you value opportunities for learning new skills or improving existing processes. Your interpersonal abilities allow you to build rapport easily with colleagues as well as external contacts like auditors or bankers.

  • Possess a Diploma in Accountancy or an equivalent qualification that demonstrates your foundational knowledge in finance.
  • Bring either fresh enthusiasm as a recent graduate or up to three years of relevant experience in handling full sets of accounts within similar environments.
  • Demonstrate practical experience or familiarity with audit processes; any prior audit exposure will be considered an added advantage.
  • Show proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for efficient data management, reporting, and documentation tasks.
  • Exhibit maturity, responsibility, and self‑motivation through your consistent attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
  • Display independence in managing tasks while remaining open‑minded and eager to learn from others within the team setting.
  • Maintain meticulous standards when recording transactions or preparing reports to ensure accuracy at every stage of the accounting cycle.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal colleagues and external partners such as auditors or bankers to support seamless operations.
