Accounts and Tax Executive (Client Services)

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and meticulous Accounts and Tax Executive to manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their accounting and tax compliance requirements are met accurately and timely in accordance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting and Bookkeeping

  • Handle full set of accounts for a portfolio of clients across various industries, including the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual management accounts.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), and maintain the General Ledger.
  • Prepare unaudited financial statements and necessary accounting schedules (e.g., fixed asset registers, accruals, prepayments) for compliance filing with ACRA.
  • Assist clients with year-end audit preparation, liaising with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.

2. Taxation and Compliance

  • Compute and prepare Corporate Income Tax (CIT) returns (Form C/C-S) and the Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI) for submission to IRAS.
  • Prepare and file quarterly Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns (Form 5).
  • Handle the computation and filing of Withholding Tax (WHT) as necessary.
  • Assist in responding to queries from IRAS and other government agencies regarding clients' tax matters.

3. Client and Team Management

  • Liaise directly with clients to obtain necessary financial data and documentation, and provide clear communication on compliance deadlines and requirements.
  • Respond to client queries on basic accounting, and tax matters professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and organized physical and electronic filing of accounting and tax records.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or an equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA).
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, preferably within a professional accounting or corporate services firm in Singapore.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong practical experience in handling full set of accounts.
  • Solid knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), corporate tax, GST, and related statutory compliance requirements (ACRA and IRAS).
  • Familiarity with common accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel.
  • Must be detail-oriented, analytical, and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills for effective client engagement.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple clients and deadlines, and demonstrate a proactive, positive attitude.
