Job summary

A financial services company in Singapore is seeking an Accounting Assistant to manage daily accounting operations. You will handle invoice processing, financial record-keeping, and monthly reconciliations while supporting the finance team during audits. Strong attention to detail and a diploma in Accounting or related certification are required. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of relevant experience and can work independently while being proactive and responsible.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for financial support.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Support finance team during year-end closing.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies.

Job description
Job Responsibilities
  • Handle daily accounting operations, including accurate record-keeping, filing, and maintaining financial transaction records.

  • Process supplier invoices, prepare payments, record petty cash and credit card transactions, and reconcile AP Ledger balances with vendor statements.

  • Prepare and issue customer invoices, record receipts, monitor AR aging, follow up on overdue accounts, and distribute monthly Statements of Accounts.

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial information and administrative support as required.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and periodic financial reports.

  • Support the finance team during year-end closing and external audit processes.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and maintain a systematic filing system for AP and AR documents.

  • Carry out other ad hoc tasks assigned by management.

Requirements
  • Diploma in Accounting, or CAT/LCCI certification.

  • Preferably at least 1 year of working experience in accounting functions.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling numbers.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Proactive, responsible, and committed to delivering quality work.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a good team player.
