An International School in Singapore is seeking a full-time Accounting teacher responsible for delivering lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and at least 3 years of teaching experience. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with students and parents are essential. The role also includes preparing examination papers and maintaining communication with all stakeholders.
Job Description:
You will report to the Head of Department (Humanities) and your duties will include:
Plan, prepare, and deliver Accounting lessons in alignment with the Cambridge IGCSE Accounting syllabus for Year 9 and Year 10.
Develop engaging and well-structured lesson plans incorporating a range of instructional strategies, including worked examples, practice exercises, presentations, collaborative activities, and real-life business scenarios.
Differentiate teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs and support students at varying levels of readiness.
Prepare, review, and vet examination papers in accordance with school guidelines.
Invigilate tests and examinations as scheduled.
Mark assignments, tests, and examination scripts accurately and promptly.
Assess, record, and report students’ progress in line with departmental and school assessment policies.
Undertake as Form class teacher, Co-Academic programme duties, organise and participate in school committees and events.
Proactively engage and communicate with parents/guardians on students’ learning and well‑being.
Provide pastoral care, manage student discipline, and carry out Care Teacher responsibilities if assigned.
Complete all administrative duties related to the teaching of Accounting.
Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings, typically held three times per academic year.
Perform any other duties that are reasonable and appropriate for a full-time teacher.
Job Requirements:
Candidate must possess at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from a recognised university.
A Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the National Institute of Education (NIE) is an advantage.
At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience in IGCSE Accounting within a school setting.
Familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE Accounting syllabus.
Meticulous, well‑organised, and able to manage tasks efficiently.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
