Job Description:

You will report to the Head of Department (Humanities) and your duties will include:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver Accounting lessons in alignment with the Cambridge IGCSE Accounting syllabus for Year 9 and Year 10.

  • Develop engaging and well-structured lesson plans incorporating a range of instructional strategies, including worked examples, practice exercises, presentations, collaborative activities, and real-life business scenarios.

  • Differentiate teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs and support students at varying levels of readiness.

  • Prepare, review, and vet examination papers in accordance with school guidelines.

  • Invigilate tests and examinations as scheduled.

  • Mark assignments, tests, and examination scripts accurately and promptly.

  • Assess, record, and report students’ progress in line with departmental and school assessment policies.

  • Undertake as Form class teacher, Co-Academic programme duties, organise and participate in school committees and events.

  • Proactively engage and communicate with parents/guardians on students’ learning and well‑being.

  • Provide pastoral care, manage student discipline, and carry out Care Teacher responsibilities if assigned.

  • Complete all administrative duties related to the teaching of Accounting.

  • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings, typically held three times per academic year.

  • Perform any other duties that are reasonable and appropriate for a full-time teacher.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from a recognised university.

  • A Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the National Institute of Education (NIE) is an advantage.

  • At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience in IGCSE Accounting within a school setting.

  • Familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE Accounting syllabus.

  • Meticulous, well‑organised, and able to manage tasks efficiently.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
