Job Description
1. Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage full sets of accounts, including AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, and bank reconciliation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Oversee project costing, including labour, materials, subcontractor fees, equipment, and overhead allocation.
- Review progress claims, variation orders, retention, subcontractor invoices, and related financial documents.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare cash flow forecasts, and ensure sufficient funding for project operations.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory authorities.
2. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare annual budgets, project budgets, and cost projections.
- Track actual project costs vs. budget and provide variance analysis.
- Work closely with Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers to ensure cost control and financial accuracy.
3. Tax & Compliance
- Handle GST submission, Corporate Tax, and Withholding Tax matters.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), ACRA, IRAS, and statutory requirements.
- Establish and maintain internal control procedures.
4. Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team; assign tasks and review work performance.
- Improve accounting processes and enhance efficiency through system upgrades or automation.
5. Cross-Department Coordination
- Coordinate with QS, Operations, Procurement, and HR departments on project and financial matters.
- Provide financial insights and management reports to support decision-making.
Job Requirements
1. Education & Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- ACCA, CPA, or ISCA certification is an advantage.
2. Experience
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience; construction or engineering industry experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project costing, progress claims, retention, and subcontractor management.
- Prior experience supervising a team is an advantage.
3. Skills
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, AutoCount, QuickBooks, SAP) and Excel (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of Singapore tax regulations (GST, Corporate Tax, WHT).
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities with operational teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
