Overview
As our Accounting and Finance Associate, you are mainly responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in ensuring the company’s accounting policies and procedures are appropriately supported and complied with.
Job Duties
- Assist with providing financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
- Ensure timely, accurate month‑end closing and financial reporting to the management and investors.
- Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Prepare and file GST returns on a quarterly basis.
- Prepare the Singapore Income Tax Return (Form C) and its relevant detailed tax computation.
- Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, corporate secretarial agents, local tax and government authorities where required.
- Support and ensure compliance with all finance filing requirements, tax filing requirements, audits, procedures and forms both statutory and internal.
- Document financial transactions by entering account information.
- Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Secure financial information by completing database backups.
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
- Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
- Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintain the firm’s confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Qualifications / Skills
- Diploma in Accountancy/Finance or its equivalent.
- Professional accounting qualifications (CPA, ACCA) will be a good addition.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of the IFRS.
- Preferably possessing a minimum 3‑4 years of accounting experience.
- Meticulous, independent and good interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
