Job summary

A food and beverage company in Singapore is seeking a part-time accountant to stabilize finance processes and coach the in-house team. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of hands-on experience with Xero, strong knowledge of accrual accounting, and the ability to train junior staff. This role offers a flexible remote-first working arrangement with an indicative salary of SGD 1,600 – 2,800 monthly, depending on experience and agreed workload.

Job description

Stylez Pte. Ltd. operates Japanese F&B outlets in Singapore. We are standardizing finance operations around Xero, moving to a D+10 month-end close, full paperless workflows, and tighter AP/expense/inventory controls. We’re hiring a part-time accountant to stabilize processes, coach our in-house team, and align our external bookkeeper.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement a Xero-based month-end close: draft P&L by D+7, final by D+10, lock prior month.
  • Lead end-to-end paperless workflows: e-invoices/receipts capture (e.g., Dext/Hubdoc), Xero Files, audit trail, IRAS-compliant retention.
  • Enforce daily supplier bill entry (no next-month bulk posting) and run month-end supplier statement reconciliation.
  • Standardize chart of accounts, GST codes, tracking categories (by outlet), and default mappings (cost center defaults).
  • Fix the expense flow (tax-inclusive defaults, “GST on Expenses”, approver checks).
  • Coordinate inventory → COGS posting after the D+5 stock count; support variance reviews.
  • Produce outlet-level P&L + KPIs; create concise SOPs & checklists; coach the internal team and manage the bookkeeper.
  • Nice to have: hands-on integration experience connecting Lightspeed POS, HReasily, MarketMan with Xero.
Requirements
  • 3+ years’ hands-on Xero (AP, month-end close, GST, credit notes, bank rules).
  • Strong grasp of accrual accounting, supplier statement reconciliation, and SG GST.
  • F&B exposure (inventory/COGS) is an advantage.
  • Ability to train/co-work with junior staff and document processes clearly (SOPs, checklists).
Working Arrangement

Part-time, 1-2 days/week. Remote-first; on-site at Orchard Plaza as needed (training, stock-take close, reviews).
Role scope can expand over time by mutual agreement (e.g., periodic health-checks/retainer).

SALARY (Indicative; finalised post-interview)

Indicative Range (subject to interview & agreed scope):

  • Monthly (pro-rated for 1–2 days/week): SGD 1,600 – 2,800, CPF applicable.
  • Hourly equivalent available; final structure to be confirmed in the written offer.

Notes: The final package will be confirmed in the written offer after the interview, based on skills/experience, agreed weekly days (1–2), and defined deliverables/scope. Compensation may be reviewed if the scope or weekly days change by mutual agreement.
