Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD is hiring an Accountant on a 1 Year contract (renewable subject to performance) at our Singapore office. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work with the accounting team in Singapore and Malaysia on monthly, quarterly and year-end closes, balance sheet reconciliations, GST/tax submissions, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly and year-end closes with the accounting team.
• Coordinate with Malaysia team for close processes.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations for unreconciled items.
• Lead ad-hoc accounting projects.
• Perform variance analysis and financial performance reviews.
• Assist with tax, treasury, audits and process improvements.

Job Duties

• Reporting to Finance Manager, the incumbent will work closely with accounting team in operational and financial matters for the Company.


• Work closely with accounting team in Malaysia to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes


• Detail review Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation prepared by accounting team to ensure no unreconciled items


• Lead accounting team for any ad-hoc project


• Analyse financial performance and provide variance analysis


• Provide financial/accounting support to other departments/ business units


• Prepare withholding tax return, GST return, declaration and related documentation requested by the tax authority


• Review, enhance, participate, and implement financial and control process improvement


• Treasury function - Liaise with banks for banking matters


• Plan and co-ordinate for quarterly and year-end stock take


• Plan and co-ordinate for year-end fixed asset sighting


• Liaise with internal and external auditors, addressing the audit issues, working with the operation team to ensure the implementation of audit recommendations


• Assist for year-end tax filing


• Support the business and management in any business analysis, projects, initiatives, and other duties assigned

Requirements

• At least 2-3 years experiences in Accounting (GL)


• Hands-on Experience with accounting software preferably Oracle ( Oracle is not a must )


• Experience in AI activities / automation / tech-changes


• Good team player and possess good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills


• Able to multitask and willing to be hands-on


• Pro-active, self-motivated and eager to acquire knowledge


• Able to work independently, under tight timelines and pressure


• Those who are available immediately will be preferred
