Job description
The Position:

An independent commodities trading firm is looking for an Accountant to join their team in the Singapore HQ. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will partner with other departments and work with external auditors to ensure the smooth operation of business activities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with IFRS
  • Prepare financial statements and assist in monthly closing, ensuring reporting deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with other teams to collect and analyse data for financial reporting
  • Prepare management reports and financial analysis of the commodities market
  • Perform daily accounting activities related to commodities, forex and hedging transactions
  • Provide support in the implementation of accounting policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with external auditors for year-end audit
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by the Finance Manager
Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting with 2- 4 years’ experience
  • Familiarity with Indian markets or fluency in Indian languages advantageous as India is their largest single market
  • Exposure to commodities trading preferred but not essential
  • Strong communication skills; able to work under pressure
