Job summary

Meranti Power Pte Ltd in Singapore, Jurong Island, seeks an experienced Accountant on a 1-year contract to manage full sets of accounts and drive month-end close. The role requires hands-on experience in statutory audits, tax compliance, and financial reporting, with proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.

Reporting to the Principal Manager, Finance, you will coordinate with external service providers, prepare schedules, and support budgeting and forecasting with robust financial analysis.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Experience with full sets of accounts and month-end closing.
• Familiarity with audits, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage full sets of accounts for assigned entities in accordance with accounting policies and reporting requirements.
• Execute month-end and year-end closing activities using established timelines and control procedures.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset schedules, and other accounting adjustments with proper documentation.
• Review trial balances, prepare supporting schedules, and assist in the preparation of financial statements.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts, including bank, receivables, payables, tax, payroll, fixed assets, loans, and equity accounts.
• Prepare audit schedules and provide timely support for audit, statutory, regulatory, and tax reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with external accounting service providers and verify the completeness and accuracy of submitted information.
• Support company setup, including administrative works, accounting system implementation and integration, such as coordination, account mapping, balance validation and system testing.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process by preparing financial data and analysis
• Any other adhoc duties as and when assigned by immediate Superior

Meranti Power Pte Ltd (MP), a fully owned subsidiary of the Energy Market Authority, manages and operates a new power generation station in Jurong Island. We are seeking committed individuals for the position of Accountant (1-year contract). The scope and requirements for this position are as follows:

Requirements

• Education in Accounting, Finance, or a recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CA).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including hands-on experience in handling full sets of accounts, month-end closing, statutory audits, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Team player, meticulous, and resilience.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Experience in ERP system (Oracle NetSuite) and/or Maximo will be an added advantage
• Willing to work in Jurong Island.
