Position Overview

The Accountant at Rental Hygiene Services plays a pivotal role in ensuring financial integrity across regional branches. This includes managing internal audit controls, preparing financial reports, supporting operational teams, and ensuring compliance with statutory and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
  • Finalise month-end actual results and flash reports.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices and credit notes.[CY1]
  • Manage petty cash reloading and reconciliations.
  • Review and process payroll journals and confirmations.
  • Prepare VAT reconciliations and statutory returns.
  • Assist in preparing audit packs and year-end financials.
Operational Support
  • Support Financial Managers and branch-level finance staff.
  • Attend stock takes and branch visits for financial oversight.
  • Assist with internal audit functions and workshops.
  • Provide ad hoc support to branches and GM queries.
Monthly Planner Activities
  • Flash reporting, base balancing, and internal revenue reviews.
  • Cashbook and creditor checks.
  • VAT submissions and payroll reviews.
  • Journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Preparation for month-end and flash reporting cycles.
Experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a full-function accounting role.
  • Experience with GL reconciliations, audit preparation, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro, Great Plains).
