Job summary

A leading nutrition company based in Singapore is looking for an experienced accountant to manage financial records and ensure compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include preparing financial reports, handling accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with month-end and year-end closings. Ideal candidates should have at least 5-8 years of experience in accounting and be proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Job description
Job Purpose

Responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements, preparing financial reports, and supporting business decision-making through sound financial management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and payment vouchers.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, issue invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Prepare and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Manage petty cash transactions.
Month-End & Year-End Closing
  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
  • Prepare trial balances and ensure all schedules are updated.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support management in preparing budgets and forecasts.
Compliance & Taxation
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare GST returns, corporate tax computations, and liaise with tax authorities.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
  • Provide financial data to management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Other Duties
  • Support process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Carry out ad-hoc tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, etc.).
  • At least 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, MYOB, Xero, ERP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
