Job Purpose
Responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements, preparing financial reports, and supporting business decision-making through sound financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and payment vouchers.
- Monitor accounts receivable, issue invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Prepare and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Manage petty cash transactions.
Month-End & Year-End Closing
- Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Prepare trial balances and ensure all schedules are updated.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support management in preparing budgets and forecasts.
Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements.
- Prepare GST returns, corporate tax computations, and liaise with tax authorities.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Provide financial data to management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Other Duties
- Support process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Carry out ad-hoc tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, etc.).
- At least 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, MYOB, Xero, ERP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
