Job summary

DKSH is seeking a meticulous Accountant (6-month contract) to join its Finance team in Singapore. You will support general ledger processes, balance sheet review and clean-up, and tax compliance, contributing to accurate month-end and year-end close.

You will collaborate with internal teams and BPO partners to resolve discrepancies, prepare schedules for audits, and assist with asset verification and process improvements. This role requires 3+ years of GL experience and SAP proficiency.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience with hands-on GL experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Experience with SAP is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to investigate discrepancies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Hands-on and proactive, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform review and clean-up of balance sheet accounts for assigned entities, focusing on aged items.
• Investigate reconciling items and discrepancies and coordinate with stakeholders for resolution.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and support documentation.
• Support general ledger accounting and month-end closing activities, including journal entries and accruals.
• Review entries from BPO partners and follow up on outstanding matters to maintain timelines.
• Support intercompany reconciliation and clearing of balances.
• Assist with year-end closing and external audit requirements.
• Assist GST returns, tax compliance, and tax schedules.
• Liaise with internal teams, BPO partners, and external stakeholders to resolve tax matters.
• Contribute to ad-hoc Finance projects including asset verification and data clean-up.
• Administrative duties and coordination as required.

About The Role

The Accountant (6-month contract) supports DKSH's Finance team in delivering accurate and compliant general ledger accounting, with an initial focus on balance sheet review and clean-up for assigned entities. This role contributes to financial integrity and reporting quality by supporting month-end and year-end closing, Goods and Services Tax (GST) and corporate tax compliance, external audit requirements, and ad-hoc Finance projects.

What You Will Deliver

• Perform review and clean-up of balance sheet accounts for assigned entities, with a focus on aged and long-outstanding items to restore accuracy and completeness
• Investigate reconciling items and accounting discrepancies, following through with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accounts are adequately supported and substantiated with appropriate documentation
• Support general ledger (GL) accounting and month-end closing activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, provisions, and other accounting adjustments
• Review accounting entries and closing activities performed by Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partners and follow up on outstanding matters to maintain closing timelines
• Support intercompany reconciliation and clearing of outstanding balances to ensure accurate entity-level reporting
• Support year-end closing and external audit requirements, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation
• Support preparation and review of Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns and reconciliations, and assist with corporate income tax compliance and tax schedules
• Liaise with internal teams, BPO partners, and external stakeholders to resolve accounting and tax matters effectively
• Contribute to ad-hoc Finance projects and assignments including fixed asset verification, data clean-up, and process improvement initiatives
• Administrative duties and coordination tasks as required

What You Bring
