Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage full sets of accounts and support financial operations. The candidate will be responsible for monthly closing, financial reporting, tax compliance, and improving financial processes. The ideal individual should be detail-oriented, analytical, and familiar with Singapore accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain full sets of accounts (AP, AR, GL, Fixed Assets, Cash Book).
- Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis.
- Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and intercompany balances.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial data and reporting.
Accounts Payable/Receivable
- Process supplier invoices, claims, payments, and credit notes.
- Prepare customer invoices, follow up on collections, and manage ageing reports.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records.
Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare GST submissions, CPF, IRAS filings, and assist with corporate tax matters.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and government bodies.
Budgeting & Analysis
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
- Conduct cost analysis and support business decision-making.
System & Process
- Support implementation and improvement of accounting systems and internal controls.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, financial procedures, and audit requirements.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in Singapore.
- Strong knowledge of SFRS, GST regulations, and IRAS compliance.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SQL, SAP, MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks).
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Added Advantage (Optional)
- Experience in consolidation of group accounts.
- Knowledge in inventory costing/ project accounting (if relevant to business).
- Experience in internal control set-up.
- CPA/ACCA or pursuing professional certification.
