Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will manage the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support management with timely financial analysis and insights to drive business performance across multiple group entities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

    Manage full sets of accounts for Zenova Steel and its subsidiaries.

    Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).

    Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.

    Reconcile bank statements, supplier ledgers, and intercompany accounts.

  2. Budgeting & Cash Flow

    Assist in preparing project cash flow forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis.

    Monitor project profitability and support the project department with cost tracking.

    Maintain accurate records of payments, receipts, and claims.

  3. Audit, Tax & Compliance

    Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretaries.

    Ensure compliance with ACRA, IRAS, and MOM regulations.

    Prepare GST submissions and ensure accurate CPF, levy, and statutory payments.

  4. Internal Controls & Systems

    Implement proper documentation and internal controls over accounting transactions.

    Maintain accounting records using accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or equivalent).

    Support the digitalization of financial processes within the group.

  5. Management Support

    Prepare financial summaries and reports for the management team and CFO.

    Provide financial input for tender submissions and project evaluations.

    Support ad-hoc financial analysis, investment evaluations, and intercompany transactions.

Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
  • Good knowledge of SFRS, GST, and Singapore corporate tax requirements.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, financial modeling).
  • Strong sense of integrity, responsibility, and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in project-based accounting (e.g., tracking project costs, progress claims).
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, progress billing, and retention accounting.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork with operations and project teams.
