The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of the preschool and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and government funding requirements. This role oversees budgeting, reporting, and audit preparation while maintaining transparent and accurate financial records to support effective decision‑making and sustainable centre operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including all income, expenses, payroll, and grant transactions.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal financial policies, and government funding guidelines.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Monitor funding utilisation and prepare financial submissions or reports required by authorities.
  • Support both internal and external audit processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation.
  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to management for budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Liaise with HQ, auditors, banks, vendors, and government agencies as required.
  • Continuously improve financial systems, procedures, and internal controls for efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 1‑3 years of accounting experience; experience in education, non‑profit, or government‑funded organisations preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
