Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage accounting functions of different nature of companies
  • Maintain a full set of accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Handle day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including sales, purchases, accounts receivable/payable, and cash book management
  • Prepare weekly operational reports for management review
  • Ensure accurate and traceable accounting records
  • Manage timely month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and intercompany transactions
  • Handle quarterly GST submissions and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations
  • Respond to audit and tax-related queries efficiently
  • Prepare financial schedules and reports for month-end and year-end closings
  • Present financial and management reports to stakeholders
  • Conduct cost analysis, budgeting, and variance reporting
  • Support the preparation and submission of government grant claims
  • Assist with overseas purchasing and order-related matters
  • Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax agents, and banks
  • Negotiate and renew lease agreements, including terms and conditions
  • Complete and submit annual statistical surveys
  • Propose and implement improvements to accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
  • Perform general office and operational administrative duties

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy, Taxation, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in accounting, including experience in an Accounts managerial role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance
  • High level of accuracy, independence, and efficiency in work
  • Excellent time management and adaptability in dynamic environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative team player with good communication skills
  • Proficiency in MYOB Accounting Software
  • Prior experience in an SME environment is preferred
  • Immediate availability or short notice is advantageous

Reporting Structure:

  • This role includes supervisory responsibilities, with two Accounts staff reporting directly to you.
