About the Role: We are looking for an Account Executive who will grow Planet’s Government sales pipeline and book of business in Government Intelligence, Defense and National Security institutions for South Korea and Taiwan. The ideal candidate is driven, independent, creative in expanding government business, with a proven track record selling to government and defense, and the ability to navigate procurement processes. The role involves identifying, qualifying, negotiating, and closing large and medium-size deals to drive sales revenue targets. A background in military experience, technical understanding of geo-spatial imagery products (or related field), and knowledge of government customers is preferred.

This role involves developing an extensive pipeline of new sales leads, providing product and sales demonstrations, and formulating appropriate business strategies. The candidate should forecast accurately when managing the incoming pipeline, and be familiar with quota, carrying targets, and closing deals. This is a full-time, remote position based in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia or Australia.

Impact You’ll Own
  • Develop the sales pipeline needed to achieve or exceed your sales targets and goals.
  • Collaborate with the Government Sales team and Leadership.
  • Work with Planet’s marketing team to run campaigns to attract and identify new opportunities.
  • Work with Business Development to grow a pipeline of opportunities with strategic accounts.
  • Prospect and develop business relationships, close sales, and manage customer expectations as the company grows.
  • Collaborate with the whole commercial organisation to foster close customer relationships based on trust and integrity.
  • Engage qualified prospects and guide them through identifying the value proposition and negotiating to achieve a win.
  • Manage contracting and Government procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with pre-sales/solution architect staff to ensure technical validation and a technical win.
  • Coordinate with post-sales and Customer Success to onboard new customers and grow relationships.
  • Maintain pipeline hygiene using Salesforce.com and develop opportunities to meet targets.
  • Create customer-facing presentations and proposals tailored to prospects and situations.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate professional experience
  • Proven success winning business with Government customers (e.g., Ministry of Defense, Intelligence accounts)
  • Understanding of the value of commercial Earth Observation imagery for government users
  • Strong relationships across North Asia Government and partner ecosystem
  • 4+ years in geospatial software, imagery, or technical sales; demonstrated success
  • 4+ years selling to government customers with knowledge of government sales cycles
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Good judgment, negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM
  • English fluency; willingness to travel up to 40%
