NPI Engineer (Precision Machining)

Salary: $3,800 – $4,500

Working Hours: 8:15am – 5:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Location: Changi North

Job Description

Responsible for translating customer drawings and technical requirements into efficient, scalable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes. This role ensures smooth NPI execution and production readiness in a precision machining environment.

  • Review and interpret customer drawings, specifications, and requirements
  • Develop manufacturing processes, including process flow, work instructions, tooling, and inspection plans
  • Conduct DFM reviews to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost
  • Lead PFMEA to identify and mitigate process risks
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Procurement teams for successful production launch
  • Lead first article builds and process validation prior to mass production
  • Identify and resolve manufacturability issues during NPI stage
  • Ensure accuracy of BOMs, routers, and documentation in accordance with QMS
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and cost
  • Coordinate with suppliers on tooling and material readiness
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards such as ISO 9001 / AS9100
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in NPI or Manufacturing Engineering, preferably in precision machining
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks, SolidCAM, MasterCAM, UG)
  • Familiar with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing documentation
  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of CNC machining processes
  • Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools
