Job summary

Bank Julius Bär & Co. Ltd. seeks an experienced Technical Scrum Master & DevOps Practitioner to join the GPS Agile team in Singapore. You will coach cross-functional teams in SAFe while advancing CI/CD, automation, and robust release pipelines.

In this dual role, you will partner with Product Owners and stakeholders, drive platform onboarding, and promote standardisation across the GPS domain. A strong background in Linux, scripting, and cloud technologies is essential.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or equivalent role.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • SAFe certification (SA or SP) preferred.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of technology stack for GPS ART projects.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Linux administration, scripting (Python), and log investigations.
  • Hands-on CI/CD with Jenkins, GitLab, Octopus, Maven.
  • Cloud experience: Kubernetes and Azure (AKS).

We are seeking an experienced Technical Scrum Master & DevOps Practitioner to join our Agile team in the GPS domain. In this dual-role capacity, you will be responsible for facilitating and coaching cross‑functional teams in adopting and implementing SAFe principles, while also driving robust DevOps practices to enable continuous integration, automated testing, and reliable release pipelines.

Your challenge
  • Facilitate Agile & SAFe Execution: Coach Scrum teams in the GPS domain to effectively adopt SAFe principles and Agile practices, including Sprint and PI planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Enable High-Performing Teams: Empower teams to self‑organise, prioritise work, and continuously improve through Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), process optimisation, automation, and waste reduction.
  • Remove Impediments & Drive Delivery: Proactively identify and resolve blockers impacting team velocity, escalating critical issues to leadership when needed.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Alignment: Partner with Product Owners, development teams, Test Management, and wider stakeholders to align on ART initiatives, track progress, and ensure transparency.
  • Scale Agility Across Organisations: Collaborate with fellow Scrum Masters, POs, and leaders to promote agile maturity, consistency, and a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Drive our automation effort by proposing and developing scripts.
  • Manage configuration, packaging and deployments of application components based on software and documentation delivered by developers.
  • Drive the onboarding of our application to common platforms (e.g. Observability Testing Framework, CI/CD platform).
  • Be a driver for standardisation and automation within the GPS domain and foster the engineering culture within your team.
  • As part of a highly collaborative team, contribute to the future Software Solutions strategy.
  • Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Your profile
Professional and Technical
  • 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or equivalent role
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including technical and non-technical teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
  • Certification in SAFe, such as SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Practitioner (SP)
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Understanding of the technology stack required to maintain a successful and well‑working environment, including: Familiarity with relevant technologies and systems used in the GPS ART
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Experiences of successfully delivering Software projects Linux administration background: software packages, text processing, filesystem management, maintaining environments, logfile investigations
  • Scripting skills: Unix/Linux commands, bash, Python
  • Hands‑on CI/CD experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Octopus, Maven, or similar
  • Cloud experience: Kubernetes, Azure Application Platform (e.g. AKS), distributed architectures
  • Broad understanding of the Trading flow, with a good understanding of products provided by the GPS ART, including knowledge of market data, trading platforms, and risk management systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with using Web APIs (REST, GraphQL, Websocket)
  • Experience with configuration of middleware such as Kafka and Websphere MQ User‑level knowledge of observability tools (Grafana, ElasticSearch, OpenTelemetry)
  • Development background (ideally Java)
  • Knowledge of cloud‑based technologies, such as Azure
  • Personal and Social Excellent command of verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work autonomously in a global team setup to take on initiative with a positive attitude
  • Solution orientated and able to work in an agile setup
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, with a focus on delivering high‑quality results under tight deadlines
  • Highly motivated team player
