Job summary

Celestica in Singapore is seeking an Operations Engineering Support 2 (Band05) to join our onsite manufacturing team. The role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving manufacturing equipment and prototypes to support engineering operations.

You will read schematics, diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with product specification teams while acting as a technical expert in assigned areas.

Qualifications

  • Two-to-four years of relevant experience in operations engineering or a similar role.
  • Two- or three-year community college diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with interpreting schematics and assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Read and analyze schematics, BOMs, ECNs, and mechanical drawings.
  • Script and troubleshoot electromechanical ASM and test equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faulty components and test sets, including fault isolation.
  • Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance and maintain records and inventory.
  • Assemble, test, debug, repair, and modify prototypes; support design verification.
  • Collaborate with product teams and provide guidance to peers.
  • Assist with tool making and electrician duties as needed.

Job Summary

Operations Engineering Support 2 (Band05) – located in Singapore, full‑time onsite position. Supports engineering operations by troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving manufacturing equipment and prototypes.

Responsibilities
  • Read and analyze schematic diagrams, circuit descriptions, bills of materials, engineering change orders, and mechanical drawings.
  • Script and troubleshoot electromechanical surface mount assembly equipment and test/fixture equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faulty components and test sets, including isolation of test failures, adjustment of test equipment, and reactive maintenance.
  • Conduct preventive and scheduled maintenance, maintaining equipment records, spare‑parts databases, and inventory.
  • Assemble, test, debug, repair, and modify new product prototypes; perform circuit modification, design verification, and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with product specification teams and provide guidance to peers; act as functional expert on assigned areas.
  • Assist with special trade tasks such as tool/die making and electrician duties as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, electromechanical, pneumatic systems and mechanics of assembly and fabrication.
  • Expertise in electronic circuitry, testing, debugging, and failure analysis.
  • Fluent interpretation of product specifications, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with C++ programming and other software applications relevant to the role.
  • Hand and power‑tool proficiency for test assembly and equipment maintenance.
  • Computer literacy, including Windows applications and quality standard knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal customers.
Physical Demands

Duties performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, machinery, and temperature extremes. Requires sustained visual concentration, periodic light and heavy manual effort, prolonged repetitive motions, confined spaces, and lifting objects over 20lb.

Experience

Two to four years of relevant experience.

Education

Two‑ or three‑year community college diploma in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
