Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a driven junior tester to grow skills in mobile network testing and automation on a project focused on 3GPP modem verification. You will work with mobile network simulators, develop automated test scripts in Python, and collaborate with experienced engineers to ensure reliable connectivity in connected devices.

This role offers hands-on learning, mentorship from senior engineers, and exposure to Python, Robot Framework, Jira, and CI/CD basics within ALTEN's global telecom

Qualifications

In this role, you will support the team in testing, verifying and troubleshooting how cellular modems interact with global mobile networks. You will work with mobile network simulators (Keysight Anite 9000, R&S CMW500), develop automated test scripts, and collaborate with experienced engineers to ensure reliable connectivity in connected devices.

About the role

• Assist in planning and executing test cases for mobile network connectivity, including modem configuration and emergency call verification.
• Develop and maintain basic automated test scripts using Python and Robot Framework, with guidance from senior team members.
• Support troubleshooting modem and network signaling issues (e.g., VoLTE/VoNR failures, dual APN logic).
• Collaborate with the team to document and track issues using Jira.
• Learn and apply 3GPP standards and industry best practices for mobile network testing.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of telecom or mobile networks, either through studies, internships, or personal projects.
• Familiarity with Python or another scripting language (e.g., Java, C++).
• Interest in test automation and willingness to learn tools like Robot Framework.
• Knowledge of embedded systems or Linux tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
• Good communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
• Eligibility for the VIE program under Business France regulations
• Exposure to mobile network testing or 3GPP standards (e.g., through coursework or projects).
• Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework, pytest).
• Familiarity with VoLTE/VoNR, eCall, or IMS registration.
• Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines or Jira
