Job summary

ALTEN Sweden is seeking a Verification Engineer for an automotive client in Gothenburg. You will verify platform software on ECUs and HPCs, develop verification strategies, and drive test automation across simulated and real-world environments.

You will collaborate with software developers, suppliers, and project stakeholders, define verification plans, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure traceability from requirements to tests.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in software verification and validation within embedded systems.
• Experience with .NET / CANoe configuration.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, DoIP, SOME/IP, Stomp, or VLAN.
• Experience working with embedded Linux and RTOS environments.
• Experience working with automated testing frameworks and verification activities.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

ALTEN is now looking for a Verification Engineer for an assignment towards one of our clients within the automotive industry. In this role, you will work with the verification of platform software running on ECUs and High-Performance Computers (HPC), ensuring quality, performance, and reliability throughout the development process.

About the role

As a Verification Engineer, you will be part of a platform team responsible for developing and integrating platform software consisting of AUTOSAR components, RTOS-based applications, and graphical applications running on Yocto and Qt/QML.

You will work closely with software developers, architects, suppliers, and project stakeholders to define verification strategies, execute testing activities, and secure delivery quality. The role combines test development, automation, troubleshooting, and system validation in both simulated and real-world environments.

Main responsibilities

• Develop and execute verification plans for platform software components

Your profile

You are a structured and analytical engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and working in a collaborative environment. You have a strong interest in embedded software, system validation, and test automation.

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent
• Experience in software verification and validation within embedded systems
• Experience with .NET / CANoe configuration
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, DoIP, SOME/IP, Stomp, or VLAN
• Experience working with embedded Linux and RTOS environments
• Experience working with automated testing frameworks and verification activities

Meritorious:

• Experience with QNX OS and Hypervisor
• Experience with AUTOSAR-based systems
• Experience with Jenkins, SystemD, NetSim, or Google Test
