We’re not just developing advanced supermaterials — we’re about to change the world as we know it, reshaping how energy is stored, how products are built, and how progress is made.We’re entering an exciting growth phase, scaling production across the U.S. and Europe and expanding our team of engineers, scientists, and innovators.Apply now to join our team and be part of something bigger than yourself — where collaboration, creativity, and purpose come together to build the technologies that will define the next century.The Utility Field Engineer oversees the design, commissioning, and operational support of process and facility utility systems in a large‐scale manufacturing environment.The role connects engineering design with on‐site execution, working hands‐on with operations, maintenance, and contractors to deliver reliable utility systems.## Key Responsibilities**Overall areas of responsibilities and activities*** Design and specify production and facility utility systems, define system concepts and control philosophies, respond to technical RFIs, review engineering deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, specifications), and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and internal guidelines* Act as on‐site engineering owner during installation and modifications, interface with contractors and commissioning teams, perform inspections and FAT/SATs, manage punch lists, support start‐up activities, and troubleshoot utility system issues in the field.* Provide technical support to operations and maintenance, analyze utility performance and reliability, support incident investigations, drive continuous improvement, and maintain SOPs and operating strategies.* Interface with engineering, operations, construction, and external stakeholders, and translate operational feedback into design improvements and standards.## Requirements*Educational background and previous experience required for the role*Qualifications and Experience* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)* 10–15 years of experience designing and executing process or facility utility systems.* Strong on‐site engineering experience including commissioning and troubleshooting, solid knowledge of piping design, codes and standards* Ability to review P&IDs and construction drawings,* Hands‐on experience with rotating and static utility equipment* Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plusSpecific skills* Strong field engineering and problem‐solving skills* Ability to translate design intent into practical solutions* Solid experience with underground services retrofit* Effective communication with technical and non‐technical stakeholders.**Why Work at Lyten**At Lyten, you’ll be part of a team that’s redefining what’s possible in energy, materials, and manufacturing.
