Job summary
Hitachi Energy Ltd. Västerås, Sweden, is seeking a Verification & Validation engineer with a strong background in embedded real-time systems and substation automation. You will perform tests on protection and control products, analyze requirements, and contribute to automation of test cases to improve product quality.
The role requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s in electrical engineering or computer science, 3+ years of experience, and fluent English. Swedish knowledge is a plus.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or similar field
- Over 3 years of practical work with verification & validation as test or development engineer
- Experience of embedded real time systems, communication protocols and systems
- Knowledge about substation automation and standards in the field e.g. IEC 61850 etc is a plus
- Experience in the substation automation field with protection IED’s and/or system is highly meritorious
- Systematic and accurate way of working with tests
- Acts to improve ways of working.
- Fluency in English is mandatory, Swedish is meritorious.
Responsibilities
- Perform product & system testing ensuring requirements are met
- Requirement analysis, development of test specifications, execution of tests and reporting results
- Work with manual as well as automated testing and automation of test cases
- Configuration of the product and system before tests per specifications and substation standards
- Troubleshooting and resolution of bugs in collaboration with development teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement in verification & validation
