Job summary

NKT in Karlskrona, Sweden, is seeking an engaged Test Engineer with a technical background in testing or power engineering to help connect customers to a greener world. In the role you will support the global testing program in one of Northern Europe’s largest HV test labs and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure cables meet requirements throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications

One of the world’s largest high-voltage laboratory is searching for a new Test Engineer!

Do you have a technical background within testing or power engineering and want to contribute to the green transition? Then this might be the right opportunity for you! In this role, you will help our customers connect to a greener world, whether that means securing power from a floating wind farm or a large-scale solar park.

Support NKT’s global testing and ensure high-quality delivery

In our test laboratories, the largest AC & DC electrical test labs in Northern Europe, you will take on a key role in executing and supporting testing activities. You will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that cable systems meet all technical requirements throughout their lifecycle. You will also contribute to feasibility assessments by supporting tender and project teams in evaluating test requirements and ensuring that testing scopes are realistic, optimized and well-defined. Travel is required approximately 5–10 times per year.

Engaged and curious Test Engineer

We are looking for a motivated Test Engineer who enjoys working with both practical testing and technical analysis. You have a structured way of working, good problem-solving skills and an interest in understanding complex technical requirements. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are comfortable interacting with different stakeholders across the organization. Your communication skills are clear and constructive.

Your Qualifications

• A relevant educational background, preferably a Master’s degree in engineering
• A few years of experience from a testing environment, power engineering or similar technical field
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation, standards and requirements
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English
• Experience within high voltage or similar industries is considered a merit.
