Job summary

ISLK – International School of Lund söker en karriärrådgivare som stödjer eleverna i deras process att välja vidare utbildning på gymnasiet. Du planerar information, individuell och gruppvägledning samt andra aktiviteter som hjälper eleverna i processen.

Du arbetar nära rektor, MYP-koordinatorn, lärare och elevstödsteamet samt elevernas vårdnadshavare och Gymnasieantagningen i Lund. Tjänsten är permanent och deltid (40%), start så snart som möjligt; sex månaders provanställning kan gälla.

Qualifications

• Engelska i arbetsmiljön krävs och behärskas flytande i tal och skrift.
• Svenska språket flytande är ett krav.
• Goda kommunikations- och samarbetsfärdigheter för arbete i en internationell miljö.

Responsibilities

• Stötta elever i processen att välja vidare utbildning på gymnasiet.
• Planera information, individuell och gruppvägledning samt relaterade aktiviteter.

About the role and your responsibilities

As a career advisor at ISLK you support the students in their process of deciding on their further education at upper secondary school. You are responsible for planning information, individual/group guidance and other activities that helps the students in their process. You work closely with the Vice principal, MYP coordinator, teachers and the Student support team, as well as the students and their parents and Gymnasieantagningen in the City of Lund.

This is a permanent, part-time position (40%), starting as soon as possible.

A six-month probationary period may apply.

Your profile

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in the working language English.
• Fluent in Swedish.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Attitudes and skills for a cross-culture Environment.
• Be a professional, structured and supportive member of the staff for the students.
• Have faith in the student’s ability and look out for their best interest.
• Interest in arranging lessons and other activities that widen the students’ knowledge about the labour market and different professions.
• Interest in adjusting and develop the career guidance at ISLK to fit their specific needs.
• Keeping yourself up to date about education and the labour market.
• It’s desirable that you have experience in career advising in an international context, guiding students from the IB MYP programme to IBDP, as well as towards the Swedish gymnasium programmes.

About the workplace

ISLK - International School of Lund is an IB World School authorized to teach the IB Early Years Programme, Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme. The school works in close collaboration with Katedralskolan where the IB Diploma Programme is offered. ISLK has approximately 400 students at the moment.
