Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - SRE to increase the reliability of Grafana Cloud databases (Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Pyroscope) delivered as a SaaS across AWS, GCP and Azure. This is a remote opportunity and we welcome applicants from the UK, Sweden, Spain or Germany.

In Sweden, the base compensation ranges SEK 878,578 to SEK 1,054,294. Equity, bonus (if applicable) and other benefits are included.

Qualifications

• 8+ years engineering experience, 4+ in SRE/CRE/production engineering.
• Strong Kubernetes experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure, and IaC tooling (Helm, Terraform, Jsonnet).
• Strong technical leadership, mentoring engineers and leading projects.
• Experience operating multi-tenant systems in production.
• Strong experience designing and implementing SLOs.
• Experience with Go, Python, Java, or similar languages.
• Experience with Linux internals, networking, cloud storage, and scaling.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Incident Response and post-incident reviews.
• Ability to reason about performance, scaling and failure modes.
• Autonomy to work within an engineering team and partner with product teams.
• Intellectual curiosity, transparency, bias to action, and kindness.

Responsibilities

• Own production reliability for high-SLA environments.
• Partner with product engineering squads and on-call for incidents.
• Design and implement automation to scale reliability practices.
• Improve alert quality and reduce noisy escalations.
• Lead customer-impacting incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Contribute to design docs and code reviews.
• Influence feature design for production scalability and operability.
• Build automation to eliminate toil where needed.
