Job summary

TV4 is seeking a Sr. Platform Engineer to strengthen the Internal Developer Platform and cloud infrastructure used by engineering teams across TV4.

You will work in a small team, own production environments, build self-service capabilities, and drive reliability, security, and observability. TV4 Office is Stockholm-based with a strong emphasis on collaboration and continuous improvement.

Job description

At TV4, our engineers build and operate the technology behind TV4 Play and MTV Katsomo, used by millions of people every week.

Within Engineering Platform, we build the shared cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities used by engineering teams across TV4. We are now looking for a Sr. Platform Engineer to help develop our Internal Developer Platform.

What We Are Building

Our engineering teams own the software they build, from development through production. Engineering Platform provides the shared foundation that supports them.

Our platform is built around AWS, Kubernetes and infrastructure as code. We are moving more shared infrastructure capabilities into the platform, with clearer abstractions and self-service for engineering teams.

We want to provide clear interfaces and sensible defaults without taking ownership away from the teams running the software.

Our users are engineers, and the platform needs to work well for them.

What You Will Do

You will work in a small team responsible for our cloud platform and Internal Developer Platform.

You will:

• Build and evolve shared cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities
• Develop self-service capabilities for engineering teams
• Improve how services are provisioned, deployed and operated
• Turn recurring infrastructure needs into shared platform capabilities that teams can use themselves
• Work with teams across TV4 to understand where the platform creates friction or unnecessary work
• Improve reliability, observability, security and operational practices across the platform
• Take responsibility for the capabilities you build in production
• Contribute to technical direction and platform architecture

This is a hands‑on engineering role. You will work close to both the underlying infrastructure and the engineers using it.

About You

You are an experienced platform or infrastructure engineer who has built and operated production environments at scale.

You understand cloud infrastructure deeply enough to know where abstraction helps and where it gets in the way. You are comfortable working below the abstraction when needed, but also interested in creating platforms that make good engineering practices easier for other teams.

We are looking for:

• Strong experience with modern cloud infrastructure
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerised production environments
• Infrastructure as code and automated provisioning
• Experience designing or building internal platforms, developer platforms or self‑service infrastructure
• Strong understanding of reliability, observability, networking and security
• Experience operating systems in production and handling incidents
• Good software engineering fundamentals and the ability to build platform tooling and services
• The ability to make technical trade‑offs across infrastructure, developer experience and operational complexity
• Clear communication and experience working across engineering teams

You don’t have to have experience with all of these things to be a good fit for the role, but they are things you will encounter at TV4. Experience from a specific cloud provider or toolset is less important than understanding the underlying problems.

Platform as a product

Our users are engineers across TV4. We work closely with them to understand recurring problems, decide what belongs in the platform and build capabilities that work across teams.

This requires strong infrastructure knowledge as well as an interest in developer experience and product thinking.

Engineering Platform

Engineering Platform consists of two closely related parts:

Cloud Infrastructure / Internal Developer Platform

builds the cloud platform and shared capabilities our teams use to build, deploy and operate software, with an increasing focus on self‑service and platform abstractions.

Agent Platform

focuses on how we build software: agentic workflows, developer tooling and AI‑assisted engineering.

Technical environment

Your day‑to‑day may include:

• AWS
• Kubernetes
• Terraform/OpenTofu
• kro and ACK

• Go, TypeScript and other languages used across our engineering organisation
• PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and OpenSearch
• Grafana and OpenTelemetry

You’ll build APIs, CLI tooling and internal developer tooling on top of this. The exact technologies will continue to evolve. We care more about strong platform engineering fundamentals than experience with every tool in our current stack.

Practical information

TV4 is office‑first and we work from our Stockholm office four days a week.

The position is permanent with a six‑month probationary period.
