Job summary

Amaris Consulting invites an experienced Software Verification Engineer in Gothenburg to join its Engineering scope. You will support diagnostic, testing, calibration, and verification activities for vehicle software, collaborating with technical teams to ensure reliable system performance.

The ideal candidate has 4–5 years in embedded software, diagnostics, or verification within automotive contexts, with experience in Grade-X or aftermarket tools and strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on embedded software development and verification experience, preferably automotive.
  • Experience with diagnostics tools and complete vehicle diagnostics.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering specs and testing methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and verify software operations for diagnostic, testing, and calibration activities.
  • Design and implement fault-tracing steps for off-board diagnostics solutions.
  • Define troubleshooting strategies for Diagnostic Trouble Codes and vehicle symptoms.
  • Analyze dependencies between vehicle functions, software components, and tools.
  • Perform verification on test rigs and complete vehicles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software and aftermarket solutions.
  • Translate specifications into verification procedures and automate where possible.
  • Contribute to Agile development and continuous improvement.

Join Amaris Consulting as a Software Verification Engineer in Gothenburg, within our Engineering scope, and contribute to the development and validation of software solutions for the automotive sector. In this role, you will support diagnostic, testing, calibration, and verification activities for vehicle applications, working closely with technical teams to ensure reliable and efficient software and system performance.

Your missions
  • Develop and verify software operations for diagnostic, testing, and calibration activities.
  • Design and implement fault-tracing steps for off-board diagnostics solutions.
  • Define troubleshooting strategies for Diagnostic Trouble Codes and relevant vehicle symptoms.
  • Analyze dependencies between vehicle functions, software components, diagnostic tools, and aftermarket use cases.
  • Perform verification activities on test rigs and complete vehicles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to deliver effective software and aftermarket solutions.
  • Interpret engineering specifications and translate them into software verification and diagnostic operations.
  • Contribute actively to Agile development practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your profile
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development, software verification, or diagnostics, preferably within the automotive sector.
  • Experience with Grade-X, aftermarket diagnostics tools, or aftermarket technology.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems architecture, embedded systems, and complete vehicle-level diagnostics.
  • Experience with software testing, verification methods, and test environments.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and implement engineering specifications.
  • Experience working in an Agile team setup.
  • Academic background in engineering, embedded systems, automotive systems, electronics, software development, or a related field.
  • English fluent, both written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to solve complex technical issues.
  • Strong collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
