Job summary

Air Apps in Lisbon is seeking a Mobile Software Architect to lead scalable iOS architecture across our suite of apps, with cross‑functional collaboration with product, design, and backend teams. You will drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and shape the mobile roadmap for millions of users globally, while maintaining a strong emphasis on performance, security, and clean code.

Qualifications

• Around 6+ years of mobile development with architectural mindset.
• Deep expertise in iOS with Swift; Objective‑C knowledge a plus.
• Strong knowledge of UIKit, SwiftUI, and Combine.
• Experience with app performance optimization and offline‑first strategies.
• Familiarity with Android (Kotlin/Java) is a strong plus.
• Experience with CI/CD, testing frameworks, and deployment automation.
• Strong communication skills to explain architectural concepts to both technical and non‑technical teammates.
• Passion for clean code and scalable architecture (MVVM, VIPER).

• This is a fully onsite position, based at our office in Lisbon, where you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in person and contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. We are open to support with relocation efforts.

The Role

As a Mobile Software Architect at Air Apps, you will take the lead in designing scalable and performant mobile architecture for our suite of applications - primarily focused on iOS, with cross-functional knowledge of Android development considered a plus.

You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to craft elegant and efficient solutions that support millions of users globally. This is a strategic and technical leadership role where your decisions will influence the long‑term evolution of our mobile ecosystem.

Requirements

• Around 6+ years of experience in mobile development with a strong architectural mindset.

• Experience with app performance optimization, modularization, and offline‑first strategies.

• Strong knowledge of App Store submission, mobile security, and compliance guidelines.

• Passion for clean code, design patterns (MVVM, VIPER, etc.), and scalable architecture.
