Job summary

SEB is seeking a Senior IMS/MQ System Programmer to own and evolve the IMS TM/IMS DB and IBM MQ environments on z/OS. You will help drive modernization, maintain high availability, and support cross-functional teams in a critical production setting.

You will collaborate with security, infrastructure and architecture teams, mentor peers, and contribute to disaster recovery and continuous service improvements. Fluency in English is required; Swedish is a merit.

Qualifications

• Experience as a z/OS System Programmer within IMS and/or MQ environments.
• Understanding of IMS TM, IMS DB, IBM MQ for z/OS, and transaction-processing environments.
• Preferably experience with high-availability solutions, Parallel Sysplex, disaster recovery, and production environments.
• Understanding of mainframe security, compliance, and operational controls.
• Experience with performance analysis, tuning, automation, monitoring, and incident management.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take ownership, drive initiatives, and influence technical direction.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries.
• Fluency in English. Swedish is considered a merit.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain IMS TM/IMS DB and IBM MQ on z/OS.
• Drive platform modernization and adoption of new technologies.
• Ensure stability, availability, performance, and resilience in a critical environment.
• Support developers, architects, and application teams with expertise.
• Troubleshoot complex incidents and performance challenges.
• Manage upgrades, migrations, security improvements, and remediation activities.
• Collaborate on automation, monitoring, observability, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Contribute to disaster recovery, high availability, and service improvements.
• Work with security, infrastructure, and architecture teams across SEB and mentor others.
