Job summary

Saab is seeking a System Architect to lead the overall architecture of a complex, safety-critical Airborne Early Warning system. You will ensure software and hardware integrate smoothly across multiple subsystems and align requirements with a clear technical direction.

The role focuses on modular, scalable architecture with defined boundaries, real-time performance, reliability and security. You will collaborate with product owners and engineers, explain technical topics clearly to non-technical

Qualifications

Multiple years of experience in system architecture for complex, safety-critical systems.
At least 10 years in this field.
Experience with Open architecture frameworks and standards.
Knowledge of the interaction between software and hardware.
Experience in defense/aerospace environments.

Responsibilities

Defining and maintaining a clear system architecture across multiple systems and subsystems software and hardware.
Ensuring the architecture is modular, scalable and has well defined boundaries for quick updates and verification.
Setting guidelines for real-time performance, reliability, and security.
Defining how software and hardware connect and how different systems communicate (data links, sensors, control systems).
Identifying and managing technical risks including hardware and certification.
Supporting development, testing, and verification from an architecture point of view.
Contributing to technical decisions and long-term planning.
