Job summary

SKF Group in Gothenburg, Sweden, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to help redefine how software is built and operated at scale within SKF Automotive Business. You will shape architecture, testing, delivery, and runtime operations, leveraging agentic engineering (AI) to accelerate development.

You will join a newly formed Digital Engineering team, collaborating across R&D, IT and engineering to drive transformation and set new standards and tooling for global software delivery.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• Proven track record with software products from concept to production.
• Experience in agentic engineering, AI/ML development and integrating AI/ML into production.
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with modern cloud platforms, APIs, data pipelines and CI/CD.
• Solid programming skills in Python, C++, TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical implementation of software solutions from architecture to deployment.
• Rapidly develop and deliver next-generation engineering tools using AI.
• Own, build, and improve digital engineering applications for faster, higher-quality engineering work.
• Define and implement software engineering best practices.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to translate needs into digital solutions.
• Act as a technical role model and sparring partner for colleagues adopting modern software and AI capabilities.
• Track trends, run experiments, and scale valuable practices.
