Senior Scientist, Single-Cell R&D (1-Year Contract)

Job summary

Pixelgen Technologies is seeking an experienced scientist to join the R&D team and take ownership of single-cell assay development, from feasibility to potential customer kits.

Open to Scientist or Senior Scientist level, one-year fixed-term with strong potential for permanent employment based on performance. Involvement across design, execution, analysis, and cross-team collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

• Ph.D or M.Sc in biotechnology, molecular biology, genomics or related field.
• Proven track record in assay or method development of life-science products, ideally in single-cell RNA-seq or single-cell proteomics.
• Hands-on experience with next-generation sequencing and library preparation, including interpreting quality metrics and troubleshooting libraries.
• Practical cell culture experience with mammalian cell lines for downstream workflows.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with in situ hybridization and padlock-probe assays is preferred but not required.
• Experience with data analysis using python or R is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Drive development, optimization, and validation of innovative single-cell product solutions.
• Independently design and execute experiments to understand reaction mechanisms and process variability.
• Design and build sequencing libraries; use NGS readouts as primary performance measurement.
• Maintain and prepare cell lines and sample material for assay input.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Computational Biology, and Manufacturing to accelerate product development.
• Analyse experimental data and translate results into protocol and process improvements.
• Present technical findings and project status updates to internal partners.
• Stay up to date with literature and tech advancements in academia and industry.
