Job summary

VLink India Pvt Ltd is hiring a Python Developer to support our client BlackRock. The role emphasizes strong Python hands-on development, alongside migration from Perl and robust SQL/data handling.

You will work with Linux/Unix environments, write unit and integration tests, and collaborate with technical teams. Ansible experience is a plus, and exposure to AI/ML technologies is preferred. This position requires independent problem solving.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of strong hands-on experience in Python development
• Good understanding of Perl, with the ability to read, understand, modify, and migrate existing Perl code to Python
• Experience working with Sybase and SQL in Python and/or Perl applications
• Strong understanding of database concepts, SQL queries, joins, filtering, and program controls
• Hands-on experience working with stored procedures, including understanding, modifying, and implementing them
• Good understanding of database-driven application development and troubleshooting
• Experience writing unit tests and integration tests
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to debug scripts from the Linux command line in production environments
• Strong Linux/Unix command-line skills
• Ability to independently analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions with minimal supervision
• Experience working with Ansible or other automation tools is an added advantage
• Exposure to AI/ML technologies is preferred
• Experience with Agentic AI is highly desirable
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle and coding best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with technical teams
