Job summary

Massive Entertainment in Malmö, Sweden, is seeking a Senior Gameplay Programmer to work on an unannounced project. You will help bring dynamic gameplay to life, focusing on destruction systems and interactive environments using our Snowdrop engine.

You will collaborate with designers, artists and testers, own technical realization from prototype to implementation, optimize performance, and document systems for team adoption.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience programming in C++ within game development.
  • Solid understanding of gameplay architecture and system-driven design.
  • Interest in destruction systems, physics-adjacent gameplay, or systemic world interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, debug, and iterate on gameplay systems related to destruction and environmental interaction.
  • Develop features in a C++ multithreaded engine using modern programming techniques.
  • Own the technical realization of complex gameplay features from prototype to final implementation.
  • Collaborate with physics-aligned systems and engine features to ensure believable destruction behaviors.
  • Optimize systems with attention to performance, memory usage, and bandwidth.
  • Expose robust, usable gameplay tools and data for designers and artists.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve gameplay and system-level issues related to destructible content.
  • Document systems and workflows to share knowledge and enable adoption.
  • Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to maintain high-quality code.
