Job summary

Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) is seeking a Senior Epidemiologist to strengthen pharmacovigilance science. You will design and conduct studies using VigiBase and other healthcare databases, advancing medicines safety through real-world data analyses.

You will lead methodological development, write analytical code in R/SQL, and collaborate across Research and Signal Management to produce evidence-based insights for safer use of medicines and vaccines globally.

Qualifications

• MSc or higher in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, medicine, or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to research using VigiBase and other healthcare databases.
• Design epidemiological studies and provide methodological guidance on study design and analytics.
• Write, maintain, and review analytical code for real-world data analyses.
• Support signal management through data extraction, analysis, interpretation, and investigation of safety issues.
• Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects using adverse event reporting and healthcare data.
• Contribute scientifically to pharmacovigilance research and methodological development.
• Work with cross-functional teams in Research, Signal Management, and other groups.
